(IUSOM) is dedicated with Clear-Cut Mission
Statement for providing international medical
education & training covering Basic Sciences and
Clinical Rotations Programs for Doctor of
Medicine (M.D.) Degree along with Pre-Medical
(PreMed) Program as well as medical and
environmental consulting together with
Proteomics and Genomics type analytical
laboratory research and Genetics Engineering
targeting Human Gene Sequencing focusing
COVID-19 & other Disease Cells research
services to all without international borders. In
addition, Masters in Clinical Cardiology (MCC)
Degree Program and Post Graduate Diploma in
Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC) Program are also
being offered by a Branch Campus of IUSOM,
namely, International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) – Michigan Clinical Campus (in
Dearborn, Michigan, USA) at Ark Medical Center
(AMC) and at AMC-Affiliated Hospitals located in
Michigan, USA. Furthermore, IUSOM also offers
Clinical Training Programs at MIOT Hospitals in
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India as well at other
Cardiology Hospitals & Institutes situated in
Asia, to M.D. Degree Students (72 Weeks) from
IUSOM Worldwide Campuses as well to Masters
in Clinical Cardiology (MCC) Degree Course
Students (144 weeks) and Post Graduate Diploma
in Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC) Course Students
(48 Weeks), enrolled at IUSOM - Michigan Clinical
Campus in Michigan, USA. The related Clinical
Training Agreement between IUSOM & Ark
Medical Center together with Clinical Training
Agreement between IUSOM & MIOT Hospitals
were signed on March 11, 2013 and June 14, 2013.
After a few years, several thousands national and
international students shall have obtained M.D.
Degree as well MCC Degree and PGDCC from
IUSOM.
IUSOM acquired Listing in the AVICENNA World
Directory for Medicine (formerly W.H.O. (World
Health Organization) World Directory of Medical
Schools) from the World Federation for Medical
Education (WFME).
In addition, International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) (listed at WFME’s AVICENNA
World Directory for Medicine & listed at W.H.O.’s
WDOMS with FAIMER School ID: F0002436) is
currently also accepting applications from local &
international students for Admissions for the
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program as well
for Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program for September
2021 Semester and for the subsequent semesters,
to be offered at its another Worldwide Campus,
namely, IUSOM-UAE Campus (International
University School of Medicine (IUSOM) – UAE
Campus) located in UAE.
It should be added that all Worldwide Campuses
of International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) also accept Transfer Students Admission
Applications (with Advanced Standing) for both
their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program
(covering Basic Sciences and Clinical Rotations)
& Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program, i.e., IUSOM can
consider to give an applicant, exemptions in the
form of Credit Transfer for those required
subjects, which were completed and passed at
other Medical Universities and Institutions
(situated anywhere in the World) listed at W.H.O.’
s World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).

(IUSOM) give consideration only to those
applicants who submit their Admission
Application Forms and Supporting Documents
directly to IUSOM, i.e., IUSOM has not authorized
any recruiting/service agency in entire World to
accept and/or to collect on IUSOM’s behalf, the
Admission Application Forms and Supporting
Documents together with any related fees/charges.
The US Federation for Advancement of
International Medical Education and Research
(FAIMER) and World Federation for Medical
Education (WFME) merged on April 4, 2014 their
International Medical Education Directory (IMED)
and AVICENNA World Directory for Medicine,
respectively (visit: http://www.faimer.
org/announcements/wdoms-press-release-
apr42014.pdf or http://wfme.org/documents/various-
documents/93-world-directory-of-medical-schools-
launch/file), launching the World Directory of
Medical Schools (WDOMS) which is now available
at http://www.wdoms.org/ and IMED & AVICENNA
Directory will be discontinued in 2015. This new
WDOMS was developed in collaboration with
World Health Organization (W.H.O.). Listing of

By mid-2015 (when FAIMER discontinued its
IMED), the US Educational Commission for
Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) started to
use World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS)
in determining the eligibility of its applicants for
the United States Medical Licensing Examination
(USMLE) and for ECFMG Certification (visit: http:
//www.ecfmg.org/news/2014/12/16/world-directory-
medical-schools-replace-international-medical-
education-directory-imed-2015-purposes-
determining-eligibility-ecfmg-certification/#sthash.
D0oJVPbU.dpbs). Medical Councils of all other
countries in the rest of the World such as Canada,
Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, UK, The
Netherlands, etc., were already using WDOMS for
eligibility’s determination of their applicants for
the Medical Licensure Examinations.
In addition, on April 7, 2015 FAIMER repeated that
as previously announced, FAIMER expects IMED
and the IMED Subscription Service to be
discontinued by mid-2015. At that time, the World
Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) will
become the definitive list of medical schools in
the world.
Likewise, W.H.O. announced that the World
Health Organization’s World Directory of Medical
Schools is no longer incorporated in the Avicenna
Directory, but has been transferred to the new
World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS); and
the new World Directory (i.e., WDOMS) is a joint
venture of the World Federation for Medical
Education (WFME) and the Foundation for
Advancement of International Medical Education
and Research (FAIMER).
Later on, FAIMER posted on December 17, 2015
that, as previously announced, FAIMER expects
IMED and the IMED Subscription Service to be
discontinued by early 2016. At that time, the
World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) will
become the definitive list of medical schools in
the world.
Eventually, on or about 1st June 2016, FAIMER’s
International Medical Education Directory (IMED)
also vanished from on-line data system;
consequently, both FAIMER’s IMED as well
WFME’s Avicenna Directory of Medical Schools
(after merging into WHO’s World Directory of
Medical Schools (WDOMS)) became obsolete and
both medical directories are not available
anymore to the public.
Thus since June 2016, a medical student officially
enrolled in, or a graduate of, a medical school that
is located in any part of the entire World, listed in
the WHO’s WDOMS, is in principle eligible to take
United States Medical Licensing Examination
(USMLE), Medical Council of Canada Evaluating
Examination (MCCEE), and similar other Medical
Licensure Examinations as well for instance, the
US Educational Commission for Foreign Medical
Graduates (ECFMG) now uses WDOMS in
determining the eligibility of its applicants for
USMLE and for ECFMG Certification.
International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) is constitutionally certified and
recognized under the Dutch Law by the
Government of The Netherlands, as a Medical
Educational Institution, conferring Doctor of
Medicine (M.D.) Degrees together with Masters in
Clinical Cardiology (MCC) Degrees & Post
Graduate Diploma in Clinical Cardiology (PGDCC);
and IUSOM Graduates are eventually allowed to
work in the Profession of Medicine in The
Netherlands in European Union (EU).
Primary Medical Qualifications (PMQs) awarded
by International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) are also acceptable at General Medical
Council of United Kingdom (GMC-UK), at Medical
Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), and at Singapore
Medical Council (SMC) as well at similar medical
councils in other countries, enabling IUSOM M.D.
Degree Holders together with IUSOM MCC Degree
Holders and PGDCC Holders, to acquire
registration at GMC-UK, MCNZ, and SMC along
with at other councils and to eventually become
able to work as Medical Practitioners in various
countries.
In view of the fact that IUSOM is situated in
Scenic Bonaire (in Caribbean Netherlands), which
is a “Special Municipality” of The Netherlands (to

belonging to EEA, the IUSOM Graduates (who are
nationals of United Kingdom (UK) as well who are
nationals of European Economic Area (EEA)
countries or Switzerland having Enforceable
Community right (EC right) (for Factsheet on
related EC right, click here)) are eligible to apply
for registration with a license at General Medical
Council in UK (GMC-UK) to practice medicine in
UK without passing the PLAB (Professional and
Linguistic Assessments Board) test (visit: http:
//www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/plab/before_you_apply.
asp).
