Admissions for PreMed Program
For Providing Medical Education and Training to All without International Borders, all
Worldwide Campuses of International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) located
in Scenic Bonaire (Headquarters & Main Campus) (Caribbean Netherlands (Dutch
Caribbean), The Netherlands, European Union (EU)), Sialkot (Pakistan), Barranquilla
(Colombia), and México City (México) offer a Pre-Medical (PreMed) (four semesters)
Program, regardless of race, national origin, religion, sex, or age. In addition, another
IUSOM Branch Campus located at MIOT Hospitals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India
along with other IUSOM Branch Campus in New Delhi (India) and others in Asia offer
IUSOM PreMed Program.
In addition, International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) (listed at WFME’s
AVICENNA World Directory for Medicine & listed at W.H.O.’s WDOMS with FAIMER
School ID: F0002436) is currently also accepting applications from local &
international students for the Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program for September 2021
Semester and for the subsequent semesters, to be offered at its another Worldwide
Campus, namely, IUSOM-UAE Campus (International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) – UAE Campus) located in UAE.
It should be added that all Worldwide Campuses of International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) also accept Transfer Student Admission Applications (with
Advanced Standing) for their Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program, i.e., IUSOM can
consider to give an applicant, exemptions in the form of Credit Transfer for those
required subjects, which were completed and passed at other Medical Universities
and Institutions (situated anywhere in the World) listed at W.H.O.’s World Directory of
Medical Schools (WDOMS).
IUSOM Main Campus and its all Branch Campuses situated in the different parts of
the world also provide a comprehensive Basic Sciences (five semesters) and Clinical
Medicine (six semesters) Education enabling students to complete a Doctor of
Medicine (M.D.) Degree.
Please be advised that all Worldwide Campuses of International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM) give consideration only to those applicants who submit their
Admission Application Forms and Supporting Documents directly to IUSOM, i.e.,
IUSOM has not authorized any recruiting/service agency in entire World to accept
and/or to collect on IUSOM’s behalf, the Admission Application Forms and Supporting
Documents together with any related fees/charges.
All information concerning admissions to various medical studies covering PreMed
Program at IUSOM worldwide campuses is described below.
Requirements for Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program
Applicants who are high school graduates or have less than 90 credit hours of
undergraduate course work are required to complete four semesters (total 16
months) of the Pre-Medical (PreMed) program, in order to satisfy the requirements of
all licensing boards, at any worldwide campus of International University School of
Medicine (IUSOM). The applicants having International Baccalaureate (IB), VWO, A-
Level, or F.Sc. diplomas or equivalent to such diplomas covering science subjects
are eligible to follow a Pre-Med program at IUSOM. The applicants can enroll at any
IUSOM Worldwide Campus without TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT, or MCAT or any
other Equivalent Standardized Test; such tests are not required at all. After
successful completion of a Pre-Med program at IUSOM, the students are promoted to
the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program.
Application Processing
Expedited Review of Applications
The Headquarters and Main campus of International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM) accepts applications for processing throughout the calendar year for prompt
evaluation by IUSOM Admissions Committee. Thus, IUSOM does not maintain strict
deadlines for submission of applications assuring that all applications receive full and
timely evaluation. Also by virtue of this method, the Admissions Committee is free to
expedite reviews, thereby permitting admission on a last-minute basis in exceptional
cases. Applicants requiring financial assistance are advised to allow at least 8 weeks
for processing of applications for admission.
Routine Review of Applications
At the Headquarters and Main campus of International University School of Medicine
(IUSOM), all applications are screened on the basis of the required academic criteria.
Prospective students, whose applications meet the criteria, will be invited to
participate in an admissions interview, either in person or by phone. The Director of
IUSOM Admissions prepares a report to the Admissions Committee that provides
recommendations as to academic, vocational, personality and emotional maturity.
Acceptance or non-acceptance is at the sole discretion of IUSOM Admissions
Committee. The Committee may require additional information and/or schedule
additional interviews. The Committee reserves the right to determine the applicability
of any special circumstances and whether the candidate demonstrates the personal
qualities of a good physician. Letters of acceptance and non-acceptance are mailed
within one week of the decision reached by IUSOM Admissions Committee.
IUSOM Academic Calendar
At all worldwide campuses of International University School of Medicine (IUSOM),
each academic calendar year consists of three semesters starting in January, May,
and September. For each semester at each IUSOM Campus, a batch of new students
are admitted for Pre-Medical (PreMed) Program.

Financial Information
Students are required to pay IUSOM fees 60 days prior to start of each Semester of
PreMed Program (4 Semesters). In brief, students at IUSOM should pay Fees for one
(1) Semester only, 60 days prior to start of that Semester and the same applies for
the subsequent Semesters. All IUSOM Tuition Fees and Other IUSOM Fees are Non-
Refundable.

Non-Refundable IUSOM Admission Application Fee of US $50.00 for PreMed or M.D.
Degree Program and/or all other Fees in US dollars funds can be paid to

Acquiring Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling
in Pre-Medical (PreMed) and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program
at International University School of Medicine (IUSOM)
International University School of Medicine (IUSOM) shall submit to the Immigration
and Naturalization Service Caribbean Netherlands (IND-CN) Office of Bonaire Local
Government in Caribbean Netherlands, each admitted Foreign (who DOES NOT
HAVE the nationality of one of the EU Member States, EEA Member states, Australia,
Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Vatican City, South Korea or Switzerland)
Student’s IND-CN Application Form MBES01 MVV & IND-CN Form MBES28 for
Guarantee from Educational Institution (both to be filled-in by IUSOM Office) for
Acquiring Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling in Pre-
Medical (PreMed) and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program at IUSOM,
whenever IUSOM receives the following supporting 7 documents/items from the
admitted student:
- IND-CN Form MBES27 containing student’s Awareness Statement filled-in by
student with his/her signatures;
- IND-CN Form MBES22 containing his/her Declaration of Intent and Referral
Request (with his/her signatures) for undergoing Tuberculosis (TB) testing
within 3 months of issuance of Bonaire Residence Permit;
- Copies of all pages of the student’s Valid Passport (as a Supporting Document
for Student’s Application Form MBES01 MVV for Acquiring Bonaire Regular
Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling at IUSOM; see page 6);
- A declaration by a bank that an amount is available in a (foreign) bank account
in the student's name which is at least equivalent to USD 559.00 x 16 and/or
20 months plus payable tuition fees (as a Supporting Document for Student’s
Application Form MBES01 MVV for Acquiring Bonaire Regular Provisional
Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling at IUSOM; see page 6);
- Copy of the student's Health Insurance Policy acquired for the expected period
of his/her residency/stay in Bonaire Island, Caribbean Netherlands;
- Original (not its photocopy) certificate (not older than 3 months) of good
conduct issued to the student by the competent authority (e.g., Police
Department) ) in his/her country of origin/residency, subsequently legalized
(attested) by the The Netherlands Embassy located in his/her country (as a
Supporting Document for Student’s Application Form MBES01 MVV for
Acquiring Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling at
IUSOM; see page 6); in other words, the student must acquire the legalization
(attestation) of his/her good conduct certificate at The Netherlands Embassy
situated in his/her country prior to sending it to IUSOM; in case of countries, e.
g., Nigeria, India, etc., where The Netherlands Embassy does not legalize
documents including Character Police Reports (i.e., certificate of good
conduct) anymore, the admitted students are requested to acquire a Police
Report about their character and then present it to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of their country requesting to legalize it, to put its official stamp on it and
to affix the typical sticker, which can be viewed by clicking here (Text in Dutch
language (as well its English translation) for the typical sticker for legalization
of a document as required by IND-CN Bonaire, can be seen by clicking here);
and
- Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit Application fee in the amount of
US $133.00 (to see details click here) to be wire-transferred to IUSOM Bank
account by the student using the relevant instructions cited above.
After acquiring Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV), once again, it is
student’s responsibility to apply at The Netherlands Embassy in his/her country of
origin/residency, for and to eventually obtain a Student Visa for Bonaire, Caribbean
Netherlands (CN). In this regard, IUSOM may assist student, whenever it is required.
Acquiring Bonaire Temporary Regular Residence Permit without Bonaire
Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) for Enrolling in Pre-Medical
(PreMed) and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program at International
University School of Medicine (IUSOM)
For Enrolling in Pre-Medical (PreMed) and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree
Program at International University School of Medicine (IUSOM), each admitted
Foreign (who HAS the nationality of one of the EU Member States, EEA Member
states, Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, Vatican City, South Korea
or Switzerland) Student can apply directly for acquiring Bonaire Temporary Regular
Residence Permit without Bonaire Regular Provisional Residence Permit (MVV), by
submitting Application IND-CN Form MBES03 along with by submitting required
supporting documents, namely, IND-CN Form MBES22 containing his/her Declaration
of Intent and Referral Request (with his/her signatures) for undergoing Tuberculosis
(TB) testing within 3 months of issuance of Bonaire Residence Permit, IND-CN Form
MBES23 for Relationship Declaration with an Unmarried Partner (only fill-in this
Declaration if you are applying for a residence permit for a stay with your unmarried
partner), IND-CN Form MBES24 for Declaration of Marital Status of Minor> 15 years
for staying with parents (if applicable), IND-CN Form MBES25 for Declaration of
Consent for Departure Abroad of a Minor (if applicable), IND-CN Form MBES26 for
Warranty to be issued by a Partner or Spouse or Organization, IND-CN Form
MBES27 containing student's Awareness Statement filled-in by student with his/her
signatures, and IND-CN Form MBES28 for Guarantee from Educational Institution (to
be filled-in by IUSOM Office) at the Immigration and Naturalization Service Caribbean
Netherlands (IND-CN) Office of Bonaire Local Government in Caribbean Netherlands
after entry in Bonaire. Such admitted foreign student is also required to pay directly
to IND Office in Bonaire, a Permit Application fee in the amount of US $133.00 (to see

Acquiring Bonaire Residence Permit for Enrolling in Pre-Medical (PreMed)
and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree Program at International University
School of Medicine (IUSOM), as United States of America Citizen & as Dutch
Citizen
For Enrolling in Pre-Medical (PreMed) and/or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree
Program at International University School of Medicine (IUSOM), each admitted
student (who is American (i.e., United States of America Citizen), European Dutch
and Dutch from Curaçao, Sint Maarten or Aruba) after entering into Bonaire can
submit directly to the Immigration and Naturalization Service Caribbean Netherlands
(IND-CN) Office of Bonaire Local Government in Caribbean Netherlands, his/her
Bonaire Residence Application by filing IND-CN Form MBES08 for Declaration by the
Right along with by filing required supporting documents, namely, IND-CN Form
MBES22 containing his/her Declaration of Intent and Referral Request (with his/her
signatures) for undergoing Tuberculosis (TB) testing within 3 months of issuance of
Bonaire Residence Permit, IND-CN Form MBES23 for Relationship Declaration with
an Unmarried Partner (only fill-in this Declaration if you are applying for a residence
permit for a stay with your unmarried partner), IND-CN Form MBES24 for Declaration
of Marital Status of Minor> 15 years for staying with parents (if applicable), IND-CN
Form MBES25 for Declaration of Consent for Departure Abroad of a Minor (if
applicable), IND-CN Form MBES26 for Warranty to be issued by a Partner or Spouse

Work Permits for Foreign Students on Student Visa in Bonaire
After dissolution of Formerly Netherlands Antilles on October 10, 2010, three islands,
namely, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BES) Islands were collectively integrated
more closely to the Kingdom of The Netherlands in European Union (EU).
Consequently, the Government of The Netherlands in Den Haag, The Netherlands
now permits the M.D. and/or PreMed Foreign Students (on Student Visa)
enrolled and attending the International University School of Medicine (IUSOM), to
apply for the Work Permit to work in Bonaire Island, to partially finance their costs
for international medical education at IUSOM.
Clearance from Bonaire and/or from other IUSOM Branch Campus Cities
Students completing the PreMed, M.D. basic sciences or concluding studies for any
reason are required to complete a "Financial Clearance Letter" from IUSOM
administration office. Clearance signatures are required from the students' landlord,
major utility company, and local telephone company, where the student may have
acquired debts. This is done to insure that no student leaves the campus city with
financial debts. Transcripts may be withheld for students who do not pay expenses
incurred while in Bonaire and/or in other IUSOM Branch Campus city.
